He had a typical Dalish life until his mother was attacked in the woods by humans. She was pregnant at the time, and the blows to her stomach caused miscarriage, then hemorrhage, and she died a day or two later. His father was so stricken by grief that he spent many months refusing to leave his bed. Brinn, terrified his father would die as well, became a caretaker for him, and learned quickly to be silent about his own problems in favor of looking after his father. Clearly, if his father couldn't even get out of bed, his grief made Brinn's pale by comparison. Brinn didn't have any close friends after his mother's death until the arrival of fresh blood from outside the clan. In particular, he tended to get dragged along by Merrick and Cyril, who were forceful enough personalities that he could safely let his own remain buried during their shenanigans. Brinn was happy to let other people make the decisions. He made too many decisions at home, as it stood. Among the clan, Brinn quickly developed a reputation for being incredibly fast, so he was often assigned the role of scout. He had clever fingers and made good traps. At the camp, he was known for a beautiful singing voice, and was often singing quietly in the background as conversation went on nearby. Music was something of a refuge for him. He made himself a flute and a sort of zither he designed himself. Music was its own world, like stepping into the Fade for dreaming. Among his friends, he was very tactile, in spite of being so quiet. He was always ready with a hug. He lost his virginity to Merrick, although they were only ever friends. He was prone to waking up having snuggled tightly against someone. A big reason he enjoys sex is because of the intimacy, and sex for him is not exclusive to romantic relationships.
